Overall, the creative home experience was very good. Purchasing the lot was very pressured and making a snap decision in the initial model and features. This was probably the worst part of the experience. Not being able to go back and make any changes following the design studio. We’re all on a budget and you don’t know how much you will spend in design doesn’t allow you to actually design the home you want. Following the design studio I would have liked to make changes to the structural part of my home, but would have had to pay change fees for this. I think this model doesn’t allow you to create the home you want. We would have actually spent more money in the end. From the sales, design studio, and builder we got various information related to us completely different. This information would have altered our final decisions if given to us correctly from the start not when we were finally meeting the builder. I think better standards and information sharing across these 3 departments could help buyers with a more realistic outcome in their home build. I think it would be helpful to have an actual design program to mock up your selections. We were told we would get all our selection photos uploaded to builder trend and that never happened. We also were told we would get weekly photos of the house progression through builder trend. I had to reach out to find out why I wasn’t getting these and was told you no longer use this program. This should have been shared with us and a solution put in place before I reached out. We received some text pictures of the build, but was hoping for more. Communication with the builder has been great! Walt is fantastic. Very knowledgeable and helpful with any of concerns. We have really enjoyed working with him!
We are very disappointed in how our dream home turned out. The design experience was awful and not what I have experienced when I have built my other homes. There is not a wide variety of things to choose from in the design center. Trust the process, it will all come together and that was the last thing that we should have done. It doesn’t even feel like our home. The overall quality of work was not what we saw in the model homes. We were also told there would be a tree line across the pond and it was ripped out not even a month after we closed on our home. The red oaks and animals are the entire reason we bought the lot and now they are gone. Our concerns were not addressed when we brought them up. Now we are seriously considering moving and we have only been in the house a month.
From Beginning to End Creative Homes and their staff were exceptional!!! We also used them to sell our existing home and the process was extremely smooth and quick. Kellie, Erin, Walt, Rob and Dave were so wonderful to work with! :)
