Upper two bedroom with a den/office in a four unit apartment building. This building is an original commercial building on the corner of Weil and Hadley that is closer to the street than the other buildings on the block. This allows for expansive views in three directions and lots of natural light. The other occupants are quiet long term tenants in their 30's. The onsite building manager takes care of the yard work and snow shoveling. There is a large fenced in private yard with patio furniture and garden space available. The only direct neighbor is a friendly extended family that has lived in their home since the house was built over 100 years ago. I have owned this building for over 30 years and my family has lived in it for many years. The living experience here is quite different than the typical east side apartment building.
The apartment has hardwood floors in good condition in the living and bedrooms. Vinyl floors in the kitchen and bathroom. Recently installed vinyl windows that tilt in for easy cleaning. The entire building was rewired and has many electric outlets and hard wired smoke and carbon monoxide alarms with fire extinguishers provided. Heat is provided by a hot water boiler and cast iron radiators. This is very quiet, comfortable and clean heat with it's own thermostat to control the temperature. There is a window air conditioner provided for your use. There is a washer and dryer free to use in the basement. Street parking is plentiful on Hadley street.
Riverwest is a unique, diverse and fun neighborhood. Directly across the street is an Italian restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. One block away is Gordon Park with picnic tables, a splash pad, soccer field and pathways for hiking and biking above and along the Milwaukee River. One block south is Center Street with restaurants, bars, coffee shops, bike shop and much more. One block north on Locust Street is Sunrise Foods with groceries and a great beer selection. Locust street also has bars, dining, a park with a Sunday Farmers Market and more. Many Riverwest residents choose to not have a car. Biking is king and there is a famous 24 hour bike race and several street festivals annually. Close to downtown, the lakefront and busing it is a walk able convenient place to live.
Owner pays for water, sewer and trash. Tenant pays their own electric and gas. The lease is for nine months ending on May 31, 2026. The lease will renew for 12 months. There may be a parking space available in the secure garage for $100 per month. No smoking is allowed in the building.
