This gorgeous, large, renovated duplex home is located in the downtown area of Antioch. Essentially everything in the unit is either new, renovated or refinished. The updating included brand new double-glazed windows to minimize heat and noise, window coverings, Italian vinyl flooring, Italian kitchen granite counters, paint, bathroom tiling, kitchen cabinets, a laundry room, AC, appliances and re-finished bath-tubs (literally done this week).
One enters the home by coming into a large living room with a beautiful, 1920's, hutch and cabinetry. This room, like the entire building, has Italian vinyl plank flooring which is water-resistant. All you have to do to clean the floor is wipe it with a damp cloth. This makes life so easy for those of us with little visitors or occupants. The vinyl colour was chosen by our designer to match the two-tone new paint, and the window coverings, of which there are three. The central window sports an AC unit which saves so much money when compared to a central system - around 85% we are told. Is that not important in 100 degree days? In addition, the living room has a gas wall heater which again save a bundle - we have been advised over 90% compared to electrical systems.
The windows face a private garden for the exclusive use of the residents. The garden has a play area, and also a concreted section for those balmy days when it is barbeque time. Extensive shade is provided by two trees. It is also enclosed so those little ones cannot escape!
The living room has two other doorways. One leads to the large bedroom and the other to the kitchen, which is a pleasure to behold. With new Italian granite counters, disposer and dishwasher, as well as Swedish cabinetry and vinyl flooring, it has everything for a chef's and your enjoyment. The Gaffers & Sattler gem of a range is gas unit again saving money for you. There is also a dining area next to a window providing a more-than-adequate eating space very conveniently placed adjacent to the cooking area.
A doorway leads off the kitchen to the laundry room with hook-ups for a washer and dryer which can be either gas or electric and then a further exit door to the garden. If needed, a washer and dryer are available for a small extra monthly fee.
The bedroom has also been renovated to perfection. At the entry is a large closet, which then passes into a room with four windows - providing lovely light and in vast quantity. An AC system is in the wall to keep you cool, and this is helped by a ceiling fan just like the living room. The view from the front windows encapsulates both the city centre and also a peek at the Delta with no buildings at all close - what more could you want?
The building is about three hundred feet from the Delta with all it's recreation potential, and public transport stops literally just outside. The landlord pays for water and garbage and the tenant for gas and electricity.
