Live on the top floor of a gorgeous, completely renovated Victorian home 1 1/2 blocks away from Cortelyou Rd. It comes with a parking spot on our driveway.
Cathedral ceilings, and lots of built-in storage. It has its own entrance, wholly separate from the owners (hey, that's us).
New construction, gut renovated in 2021. 3 floor walkup with 2 landings upon which you can store things like shoes/jackets etc. LG washer and dryer, dishwasher.
The shower is the most amazing shower ever with that porthole skylight. Water heater and stove are electric.
We are obsessed with light and this apartment is basically soaked in it. The skylights all open remotely and are solar powered and have a sensor so if it starts to rain they close automatically. The skylights in both bedrooms have remote controlled blackout shades, the ones in the living room are shades.
Fancy Mitsubishi mini-split A/C, so no need for any window units. We re-insulated the roof and walls extremely well so it doesn't get overly hot or cold.
The larger bedroom can easily fit a king size bed, the smaller bedroom can fit a queen, but a double bed would be better. It would be the perfect office. And yes that little skylight opens too.
We live in the heart of Ditmas Park, the largest neighborhood of Victorian houses in the country. Cortelyou is 1 1/2 blocks away with many restaurants, health food store, the Flatbush Food Coop, wine store, bars. Every Sunday there's a farmer's market near the library. It's as cute as it gets and we feel like we live in a small town...but not too small. Prospect Park is a 12 minute walk from us, or a quick 5 min bike ride up through the leafy streets. Newkirk Ave also has more restaurants, and Newkirk Plaza even more.
We're are about a 7-minute walk from the Newkirk Plaza subway stop where the B and the Q run. The Cortelyou Rd station is also like 7-8min walk. The B68 goes straight up Coney Island Ave if you need to catch the F. Express busses to Manhattan are a gem! Lots of other buses too. If you have a car, the Prospect Expressway is very easy to get on.

We are currently living in the building with our 17 year old twins. We're artsy, foody types who actually respond promptly if something needs fixing. Which of course it never willbecause in this magical house, nothing ever breaks. Just kidding.
