Nestled in the heart of historic old town Marblehead, Brackett Cottage offers a unique stay just a 1-minute walk to shops and restaurants and a 5-minute stroll to a beach on Marblehead's famous harbor. This New England colonial, built in 1810, features seafaring pieces that reflect the town's character, with each room offering a cozy place to relax and reflect. The cottage's unique architecture includes colonial-era fireplaces, built-ins, and a staircase with a brass rail reminiscent of a ship.
Brackett Cottage elegantly encircles you with fine prints, antique-style dinnerware, and nautical charts that represent Marblehead's seafaring role in American history. The living room, with its fireplace and cozy lighting, provides the perfect ambiance for gatherings. The dining room accommodates 4-6 guests, and the kitchen is equipped with full-sized appliances for any meal. Enjoy al fresco dining in the private garden accessible from the kitchen.
Parking passes for off-street parking are available for a nominal fee.
Founded in 1629, Marblehead was a crucial fishing port during the American Revolution. Discover its history by navigating through the colorful, narrow streets of Old Town, with well-preserved 18th-century houses and national historic landmarks. Marvel at the breathtaking views of Marblehead Harbor and enjoy the popular Devereux Beach with picnic tables and playgrounds.
Smoking is strictly prohibited, and guests will be fined and immediately evicted if there is any evidence of smoking found anywhere in this home. No pets allowed. No parties, events, performing artists, or bands are allowed at any time, as these are cause for eviction with no refund and may damage our ability to offer the home for future guests, exposing you to liability. As is typical with many colonial-era homes, ceilings and doorways are a little lower than today's standards, so tall people may need to duck through doorways. Stairways are narrow, and floors slope. The property is cooled with window air conditioning units installed in May and removed in September. Each unit has both a cooling and fan function.
High-speed WiFi is available throughout the cottage, and each room with a window AC unit also has a fan for added comfort.
