This second floor apartment with a lit private entrance is located in a historic 1873 home in a clean, safe, and well-lit neighborhood in the heart of Morton. It is centrally located (close to the business district and with numerous restaurants within walking distance) with quick and easy access to Peoria, Pekin, and Bloomington/Normal. The entire home has been totally remodeled, with new plumbing, heating, electrical systems, as well as new windows, doors, and insulation -- everything is new. It has hard-surface floors throughout, and been stylishly decorated with original art and decorative features reclaimed from the original home.
The bedroom has a king-sized bed, a large closet with plenty of storage space, a dresser, and two night-stands. The bedroom has extra linens, blackout curtains and a smart TV.
The living room also has a smart TV, a closet for extra storage, linens, and cleaning supplies. There is a futon sofa for overnight guests.
The well-lit bathroom has an LED-light medicine cabinet, a rain shower head, generous shelving, linens and towels, shampoo/conditioner/bath soap, a first aid kit, hair dryer, and other essentials.
The bright kitchen has a washer/dryer unit, refrigerator/freezer, electric range, an over-the-range microwave with outside exhaust, generous counter-space with LED lighting, a cabinetry pantry, and plenty of cabinet and cupboard space. The kitchen is fully stocked with plates, cups, glasses, and flatware, as well as cooking & baking utensils and small appliances. The dining area is set up to seat 3.
The temperature in each room in the apartment is individually controlled with a new min-split HVAC system and supplemented with electric heat. All utilities, trash-collection, and high-speed internet are included. The house is surrounded by lovely gardens and well maintained grounds. Snow removal and lawn care are included.
Minimum rental period is one month, rent is due on the first of the month, late fees are assessed for delinquencies of more than 3 days.
All utilities are covered in monthly rent (water, electric, garbage, lawn care, WiFi).
Responsibility For Damage: Responsibility for damage to the property incurred during your stay will be at the expense of the renter. We've worked hard to provide the nicest place possible, please help us keep it that way.
No parties or events: Parties, gatherings, and functions of any kind are prohibited on the property.
No Pets: No animals are allowed. If evidence of an animal is found in the apartment, it is grounds for terminating the rental agreement. Renter will be responsible for an additional cleaning fee and fined $250.
No Smoking: Smoking is prohibited inside the home or anywhere on the property. Smoking is also grounds for termination of the rental agreement. If there is evidence of smoking inside the house, there will be a $500 cleaning fee.
Checkout: Checkout is at 11:00 AM on the last day of our agreement. Late check-outs will be billed at $20/hr. Renters must absolutely be out by 4:00 PM, without exception.
No Shoes: Please remove shoes inside the apartment. Even if they look clean, please take them off and leave them by the door.
Trash: Trash must be disposed of in the designated outside bin shared by both apartments. Municipal trash pick-up is Friday in the early morning hours, so trash should be in the outside bin by 8:00 Thursday night.
No Noise: There is an apartment above/below this unit. Please be considerate of your neighbors. Keep noise to a minimum, especially during nighttime hours (10:00 PM 8:00 AM). This includes the TV and playing music. Repeated warnings regarding noise will be grounds for termination of the rental agreement.
Parking: On-street parking is provided. Renters and guests may park in front of or on the side of the house (First Ave. or Monroe St.). The garage and driveway are off-limits. Please do not block the driveway.
No Illegal Activities: All illegal activities, including (but not limited to) the use of illegal substance are strictly prohibited and grounds for termination of the rental agreement.
Eating areas: Please limit eating and drinking to the kitchen. Please refrain from eating/drinking in any other area of the apartment.
Dishes: Please wash any dishes used with the dishwasher or the soap, sponge, and drying rack provided.
Maintenance: Please inform landlord in the event that anything breaks or isn't functioning properly, and we will do our best to address it in a timely manner. We reserve the right to enter the apartment (with 8 hrs prior notification) for the purposes of maintaining the property and equipment.
No Rearranging Furniture: Please do not rearrange any of the furniture.
Fire Prevention: There are smoke detectors in each unit when any smoke detector in either unit goes off all of them (in both units) will alarm. If the smoke detector alarms please evacuate the unit and call ASAP. Smoking, the use of candles or incense, or open flames of any kind are prohibited. Please make sure to turn off the stove when not in use. A fire extinguisher is provided in case of emergency.
CO Detector: Each unit is equipped with a CO detector. If it alarms, please evacuate the unit and call ASAP
Off-Limit Areas: Guests are prohibited from entering the garage and/or owner-maintenance storage areas.
Heating & A/C Systems: Please refer to the "Heating and A/C Systems" pages in the information manual left onsite. Loss of a split unit remote will incur a fee of $250.
Appliances and Electronics: The TVs are connected to the internet as well as an antenna in the attic. There is no cable on the property. Provided streaming services are Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney Plus. If you have your own streaming service login, you are free to use it but please log out when you check out.
Unregistered Guests: This apartment is for your use, and the lease agreement is between our guests and us. Please limit your guests to two at a time. Their adherence to the terms of the rental agreement are your responsibility. Any deviation from these guidelines (smoking, damage, etc.) by guests is your responsibility.
There is an initial $500 deductible (refundable up to 30 days after renter's departure- if there are no signs of damages or loss) in addition to $1600 monthly rental fee.
