I am finishing up a gut rehab of the kitchen, and after several months, I am almost ready to step on home plate. Despite the popularity of home renovation shows, most people aren't used to construction, and it's hard for them to get a sense of the finished product. If you think you can, come by for a tour. As with my other properties in the past, once the work is 100% done, I expect this to move very quickly. Everybody likes new.
I have combined the dining room and kitchen into one room. The large island in the middle has seating for six. The construction will be done by 7/31, except the floors, which will be done the week of 8/4. There is also a pantry that won't be done until after someone moves in, but it will be up and done in a day. I will try and post updated photos of the kitchen as new milestones are achieved. The bathroom was redone a couple of years ago.
The apartment is 1,481 square feet and is located on the second floor. As the house is at the end of the street and borders parks on two sides, the apartment gets a lot of sunlight.
It's hard to get much closer to the Alewife T Station than this apartment, which is also close to the Capitol Theater/shops, plus easy access to Route 2 for those who commute west.
The apartment comes with driveway parking for two cars parked in tandem (in tandem with your own cars, not the downstairs neighbors). You are responsible for your own snow removal.
There is a very large backyard that is shared with the unit below. There is also space for your own vegetable garden if you want to use it. The property abuts Thorndike Field, which includes a dog park and Magnolia Park, which has a playground for small children.
The unit comes with private access to the attic for additional storage. There is also a private room in the basement for storage, a workout room, or keeping bikes, etc.
Cats are okay, as are small dogs, large dogs are negotiable. No pit bulls or rottweilers, please.
The last three renters of this apartment left to buy houses in this neighborhood, and I realize that for many, this is the last step before buying a home. Therefore, I offer flexible rent terms. The lease will terminate on 7/31/2026, but you will have the option to terminate the lease on 6/30, or 7/31, or 8/31. Said another way, if you buy a home in the spring or the summer, you could adjust your closing date to coincide with one of these lease end dates and not be stuck paying for two places at once. I will also give you the option to renew next year at the same rent if you decide to stay.
Free parking, landlord pays for water. Zillow does not allow custom lease durations in the dropdown; thus, I wanted to mention that the lease expiration will be 7/31/2026.
