    What's special

Manor Village is nestled in Southside, just below The Vulcan statue. Built-in 1924, each floor plan (and apartment) features a unique layout, so we urge all who are interested to tour the apartments in person. The large property features 8 different, stand-alone buildings and three different parking lots. It is very stair-heavy, so those who have issues with walking up and down stairs daily may want to keep this in mind before deciding to live at Manor Village. There is a washer/dryer facility on the property. Select apartments do feature a washer/dryer in unit, and several apartments have incredible views of Jones Valley, and Birmingham. For those who enjoy historic charm, Manor Village is the choice for you! The nearest grocery store would be Publix on 20th Street. This property is within walking distance of Ramsay High School and 5 Points South. We do not suggest this property for UAB students who plan to walk from campus; this is because Manor Village is located on the side of Red Mountain and the walk back is very steep. A short drive will take residents to the UAB Campus, Downtown Birmingham, Downtown Homewood, Green Springs Parkway, and Highland Park. New residents must set up their electric accounts with Alabama Power. Some apartments require natural gas to be set up through Spire Gas. Costs: $75 Per Application $400 Security Deposit $200 Administration Fee $20 Initial Water Start-Up Fee $39.50-49.50 Monthly Service Fees Monthly Water/Sewer Charges Vary All Pets Are Welcome! $300 Initial Pet Fee $15 Monthly Pet Fee (Per Pet)

Zip code 35205 covers Birmingham’s Southside—Five Points South, Highland Park, and Glen Iris—where leafy, hilly streets climb Red Mountain and the climate is warm, humid, and mild in winter. Historic apartments and stately homes sit beside UAB’s campus and medical district, attracting students, healthcare workers, and long‑time locals. Daily life is easy with Publix at 20 Midtown, neighborhood pharmacies, the Starbucks at UAB’s Hill Student Center, and standout dining from Bottega and Chez Fonfon to Surin West and Dreamland BBQ; nights buzz around Five Points with patios and music at Zydeco. Green escapes include Rhodes, Caldwell, and Rushton parks plus Highland Park Golf Course, and you’re minutes to downtown with quick access to I‑65 and US‑31/280. The area is walkable and pet friendly, with many dog‑welcoming patios. Recent Zillow market trends show a median rent near $1,300, with most listings in the past few months ranging about $1,000–$1,900.
